{"id":12662,"date":"2020-01-17T16:29:23","date_gmt":"2020-01-17T16:29:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/council.science\/?post_type=profile&#038;p=12662"},"modified":"2025-04-25T13:26:19","modified_gmt":"2025-04-25T13:26:19","slug":"elisa-reis","status":"publish","type":"profile","link":"https:\/\/council.science\/profile\/elisa-reis\/","title":{"rendered":"Elisa Reis"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Involvement at the ISC<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>ISC Foundation Fellow (June 2022)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vice-President of the ISC Governing Board (2018-2021)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Background<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Elisa Reis is Professor of Political Sociology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), and chair of the Interdisciplinary Research Network for the Study of Social Inequality (NIED).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She earned a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is fellow member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences and fellow member of the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She has received scholarships from the Brazilian National Research Council (CNPq.), the Research Council of the State of Rio de Janeiro (FAPERJ), The Fulbright Commission, the Italian Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche,&nbsp;among others, to carry out research in Brazil and elsewhere, and has a long list of publications in Brazilian and foreign periodicals.
