{"id":14443,"date":"2020-04-08T11:38:28","date_gmt":"2020-04-08T11:38:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/council.science\/?page_id=14443"},"modified":"2025-07-29T13:35:56","modified_gmt":"2025-07-29T13:35:56","slug":"un-global-policy","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"https:\/\/council.science\/our-work\/un-global-policy\/","title":{"rendered":"UN and global policy processes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The nature of our work<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Drawing on its diverse networks of Members, Affiliated Bodies and partners, the Council\u2019s work on science for policy focuses on three areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Providing scientific advice, coordinating and facilitating the participation of scientists in policy processes and international conferences.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Providing advice on how policy processes should be created or modified to best receive and utilise available scientific knowledge.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Creating scientific research programmes that will improve collaboration between scientists, policy-makers and other stakeholders in the generation of scientific knowledge.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New York Liaison Office<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The ISC has a&nbsp;<a href=\"\/profile\/morgan-seag\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">liaison office<\/a>&nbsp;for the United Nations in New York, and regularly engages in UN policy processes working with New York-based multilateral institutions and countries\u2019 representations to advance the ISC\u2019s work at the global science-policy interface.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The International Science Council works at the intersection of science and policy, to ensure that science is integrated into international policy development and that relevant policies take into account both scientific knowledge and the needs of science.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":64737,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"inline_featured_image":false,"_exactmetrics_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"tags":[],"region":[],"tag":[],"class_list":["post-14443","project","type-project","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.0 -
