The General Assembly meets in ordinary session every four years and is responsible for setting the general direction, policies and priorities for the organization. The first General Assembly<\/a> of the International Science Council (ISC) took place in Paris, France, in 2018. A meeting of the membership without voting business will normally be held at the midpoint of the intersessional period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The General Assembly elects a Governing Board, which provides scientific leadership and enables delivery of the vision, mission, principles and values, as well as the financial and management robustness of the ISC. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The General Assembly and mid-term meetings provide a forum for conducting ISC businessand for scientists to identify and discuss the world\u2019s most pressing scientific issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Terms of Reference for the General Assembly can be found in Statutes 12 – 17 of the ISC Statutes and Rules of Procedures<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
