The International Science Council\u2019s Committee on Data (CODATA)<\/a> and World Data System (WDS)<\/a>, and the Research Data Alliance (RDA)<\/a>, are delighted to announce International Data Week 2025<\/a> which will take place on 13-16 October 2025, in Brisbane\/Meanjin, Australia.

IDW 2025 is being delivered by the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC)<\/a>, Australia\u2019s leading research data infrastructure organisation, along with local partners the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, Brisbane Economic Development Agency, Business Events Australia and the State Host Destination Partner, Tourism and Events Queensland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IDW 2025 will combine the RDA 25th Plenary Meeting, the biannual meeting of this international member organisation working to develop and support global infrastructure facilitating data sharing and reuse, and SciDataCon 2025, the scientific conference addressing the frontiers of data in research organised by CODATA and WDS.

    Organizers’ information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    International Data Week (IDW) is a landmark event organised by the Committee on Data (CODATA) and the World Data System (WDS) of the International Science Council (ISC), and the Research Data Alliance (RDA).

    It brings together data scientists, researchers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers and data stewards from disciplines across the globe to explore how best to exploit the data revolution to improve science and society through data-driven discovery and innovation.

    CODATA\u2019s mission is to connect data and people to advance science and improve the world.  As the Committee on Data of the International Science Council, CODATA helps realise ISC\u2019s vision of science as a global public good mission of advancing science as a global public good. CODATA works with its membership and community to promote global collaboration to advance Open Science and to improve the availability and usability of data for all areas of research.

    The Research Data Alliance was established in 2013 by several funding agencies in Europe, the United States, and Australia. Its membership is comprised of individuals and organizations (private and non-profit). Its focus is on the detailed implementation of policies, practices, and technologies (i.e., infrastructure) that lower barriers to data exchange.

    Founded in 2008, the World Data System (WDS) is an affiliated body of the International Science Council (ISC). Its mission is to enhance the capabilities, impact, and sustainability of its member repositories and data services by fostering trusted communities of scientific data repositories. The WDS also aims to strengthen the entire lifecycle of data management, ensuring that high-quality data supports first-class research output. Additionally, it advocates for accessible data along with transparent and reproducible science. WDS International Program Office (IPO) is hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy (DE-SC0021915) and the International Technology Office (ITO) is hosted by Oceans Network Canada.

    The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC), drives the development of national digital research infrastructure that provides Australian researchers with competitive advantage through data. the ARDC facilitates programs and partnerships and run services that provide the research community and industry access to nationally significant, data-intensive digital research infrastructure, platforms, skills and collections of high-quality data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
