Dr. Ali Muhamed Ali is a researcher, educator, and policy leader with a multidisciplinary background in machine learning, signal processing, and environmental modeling. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Florida Atlantic University (FAU), USA, where he developed deep learning frameworks for ocean current forecasting and biomedical signal interpretation. His research has been published in peer reviewed journals and presented at international conferences, including collaborations the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute.
In addition to his research, Dr. Ali has extensive university level teaching experience in both Iraq and the United States. He has served as a teaching and research assistant at FAU, and previously taught and mentored undergraduate students in engineering and applied sciences at institutions in Iraq. He emphasizes inclusive, application-focused instruction that connects theory to real world challenges.
Dr. Ali currently serves as Head of the European Organizations Division at Iraq’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, where he leads academic cooperation with global institutions and international organizations. He is Iraq’s official focal point to the International Science Council (ISC), and actively contributes to national education reform and internationalization strategies. Also, he has participated in numerous academic projects in partnership with international bodies such as UNESCO, DAAD, and Erasmus+, as well as with national agencies across Iraq. He also serves on multiple steering and advisory committees focused on scientific research, academic innovation, and international education policy.
Dr. Ali is committed to advancing interdisciplinary research, mentoring future scientists, and building bridges between academia and policy.
