Strategic Plans
The ISC's work is guided by its Strategic Plans, which serves to operationalize the ISC’s vision, mission and strategic objectives for each governance period.
The Plans provide ISC Members, partners, funders and stakeholders with regular outlooks on ISC priorities and activity planning, monitoring and reporting.
Planning process 2025-2028
The ISC Governing Board and Secretariat are continuing consultations with Members to finalize the Strategic Plan 2025-2028, presented at the 2025 General Assembly, outlining five priority areas:
- Freedom, responsibility and inclusivity in science
- International science agenda-setting
- The evolution of science systems
- Science for evidence-based policy-making
- Science diplomacy
Past Action Plans
In the past, the work of the ISC was guided by Action Plans, prepared in consultation with ISC Members and other stakeholders.
