Gloria Maritza Gómez Revuelta is a historian of science whose work focuses on the intersections of geophysics, outer space, and geopolitics in Cold War Latin America. Her research highlights how Third World ideologies shaped scientific autonomy and regional diplomacy during a pivotal era. She earned her PhD in History from El Colegio de México in 2024.
Since 2021, she has taught at the Centro Universitario de Los Altos, Universidad de Guadalajara, and was active in science communication through the podcast Cosas de Sapiens (2020–2025). She also collaborates on public history and community archive projects in rural areas facing water-related displacement. Her publications include the 2019 book El agotamiento de una utopía, along with a range of articles and book chapters that interrogate the cultural, conceptual, and political intersections of science in Latin America.
