Modesto Cruz is the Director of the Institute of Microbiology and Parasitology at Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo. He graduated from the Technological University of Santiago (UTESA), with a Specialty in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at Osaka University, Japan and a Ph.D. in Radiology, with recognized research work in projects at the national and international level in areas related to health, obtaining recognition in the health line for his contributions to research by the Ministry of Higher Education. Science and Technology in the National Career of Researchers. Experience in coordination, design and execution of social projects and research projects.
With more than 30 scientific articles published in renowned national and international journals. He has been an undergraduate and graduate professor at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) and the Technological University of Santiago (UTESA), with more than 18 years of teaching experience in the face-to-face and virtual field. Current Dominican ambassador of the American Society of Microbiology (ASM), vice president of the Academy of Sciences of the Dominican Republic (ACRD) and director of the Institute of Microbiology and Parasitology (IMPA).
