Ruwendi (Wendy) Wakwella has over a decade of experience in media and communications. She has worked in the private, community and not-for-profit sectors in Sri Lanka and Australia.
With an undergraduate degree in Politics and International Relations from Macquarie University, and a postgraduate degree in Diplomacy from the Australian National University, Wendy has a strong interest in global affairs and working collaboratively across borders to address international challenges.
She worked in journalism and media before providing communications support for organisations ranging from local community centres to national peak bodies in Australia.
Wendy currently shares her time between the ISC Regional Focal Point for Asia and the Pacfic and the Australian Academy of Science as their Engagement and Communications Manager. She has also been a representative on multicultural advisory boards in Canberra where she currently resides.
