Welcoming new members of ISC committees

The International Science Council (ISC) is pleased to welcome new members to the Committee for Finance, Compliance and Risk, the Committee for Freedom and Responsibility in Science, and a new advisory body, the Committee for Membership, which replaces the Committee for Outreach and Engagement.

The three committees will play a critical role in advising and supporting the ISC Governing Board and secretariat in key areas of its operations and activities.

We are delighted with the expertise and diversity of the individual members of the committees, new and continuing. Their engagement in these committees helps to ensure that the ISC is inclusive of and accountable to its membership.

The new members of the committees begin their mandates in June 2025.

The ISC warmly thanks all Members who submitted nominations for the committees. 70 nominations were received from 47 Members, and 27 individuals were selected.

The selection process took into account the need to balance diversity of expertise, geography, scientific domain, gender, career stage and ISC membership category.

The three new committees for the period July 2025–June 2027 are as follows:
