The Global Ocean Observing System is inviting you to join the next webinar of the GOOS Biology and Ecosystems Essential Ocean Variables (BioEco EOVs) webinar series, which will be held on 16 October 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 pm UTC.
This webinar will discuss the critical roles of zooplankton and phytoplankton EOVs. These EOVs serve as indicators of ocean health, underpin marine food webs, and directly inform global environmental policy and management decisions.
Each presentation will outline standardized observation requirements, current implementation status, and practical ways researchers and institutions can contribute data to enhance global ocean monitoring efforts.
The GOOS BioEco EOV webinar series is co-organized by GOOS, the EU-funded BioEcoOcean project, the Marine Biodiversity Observation Network (MBON) and the Atlantic International Research Centre (AIR Centre). The webinar sessions will provide an introduction to each BioEco EOV and its importance for various applications.
