IUIS has been a member since 1976.
International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS) is the global umbrella organization for immunology societies, uniting 84 Member Societies and over 60,000 immunologists worldwide. IUIS is dedicated to advancing the field of immunology through international collaboration, working closely with global partners such as International Science Council.
IUIS is guided by fundamental principles of gender equality, racial and geographical diversity, and inclusiveness at all career stages, while maintaining a strong focus on expanding scientific knowledge and raise awareness in immunology.
In alignment with its Constitution, IUIS has three primary objectives:
International Congresses: Every three years, IUIS convenes the International Congress of Immunology, gathering thousands of experts to exchange breakthroughs and foster collaboration.
Specialized Committees: Expert groups in clinical immunology, education, gender equality, immunotherapy, nomenclature, quality assurance, vaccines, veterinary immunology, and more, steer targeted efforts.
Educational Initiatives: Platforms like ImmunoHub, global courses, and webinars—impacting thousands across over 80 countries—fortify immunology education.
Awards and Grants: Programs such as the EXCELL Award, travel grants for early-career and LMIC scientists, and Rising Stars highlight IUIS’s dedication to fostering talent and equity.
